You Can Find Local Part Time Jobs by Being Innovative

Think about the ways that people go about trying to find local part time jobs. Most of the time they will walk the street and go into businesses and ask if they are hiring. There is nothing more telling to an employer than people walking in off the street and asking for a job. It tells the employer that the person hasn’t really spent a lot of time thinking about what kind of work he or she wants to do, so they are really just a warm body to fill a spot. Those jobs are a dime a dozen and they don’t pay very much. If you really want to land a good job you are going to have to prepare yourself and convince the employer when you walk in the door that he or she cannot be successful without you.

Think of how different and refreshing it would be for an employer to have a person approach them with a sharp looking folder in their hand. They enthusiastically hold out their right and and great the employer confidently with a firm handshake. The person hands the employer the folder and says, “Hello, my name is Joe Smith and I am looking for work. I won’t take your time right now but here is a folder containing my resume and an introductory letter with all my contact information. Thank you so much for your time” and turns to go. Nine times out of ten the employer will stop them and say something like, “Let me get you an application” or even take them into the office to get better acquainted. Employers can tell within the first twenty seconds whether a person would be good for their company or not. When you want to find local part time jobs you have to be serious and one of a kind.

Your attitude will tell the employer a great deal about you from the moment you meet. If you are confident without being arrogant, polite without being gushy, and articulate without being verbose, you will impress the employer. To find local part time jobs you have to be above the rest who are out there looking. If you have that special something about you the job will almost find you.
