They are relocating their Corporate office to Chicago, IL in the second quarter of 2010.  They have an immediate need for a Manager of Consolidations to work in NY on a contract basis, with the potential to relocate with them to Chicago as an employee   The operational structure is decentralized with 30+ diverse manufacturing operating companies organized within four operating segments.  Position works closely with Finance and Accounting and interacts with each of the operating units. Responsibilities·        Managing and improving the consolidation process as it relates to Legal, Management, Plan and Tax functions. Includes maintenance of multiple structures, analysis of consolidated data and the processing of application and software updates. Includes related consolidated eliminations, reserves, adjustments and also providing explanation and analysis to management and external auditors. ·        Issuance of consolidated reports for Management and the outside auditors.  Includes monthly financial analysis and review of holding company reporting.·        Coordination and supervision of internal and external staff on the US GAAP reporting of Non-US Holding Companies·        Participating in the year-end closing process for internal and external financial reporting.  Includes review of annual report financials and related footnote disclosures, in conjunction with the Director of Financial Reporting    ·        Work with tax department on annual reconciliation of Book to Tax adjustments on consolidated federal return QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: ·        Extensive experience (10+ years) in both Public Accounting and private industry with evidence of expanding responsibilities ·        Strong technical accounting, financial and analytic skills and the ability to make sound business decisions. DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

- Accounting & Cash Management

o Review weekly Accounts Payable entries;

o Process bank deposits;

o Prepare and input general ledger journal and cash entries;

o Monitor weekly cash status for all entities;

o Determine funding methods and amounts, maximizing earnings;

o Process weekly cash reports;

o Reconcile bank and broker statements;

o Reconcile G/L accounts to year end tax forms (1099s, etc);

o Reconcile K-1 forms to the general ledger;

o Prepare annual tax folders for all entities;

o Review tax returns for input errors;

- Finance & Investment

o Process monthly and quarterly investment reports;

o Provide investment research and planning;

o Open, close and update all investment accounts (M/M, checking, mutual funds, and brokerage accounts)

- Administrative

o Provide back up support for the Chairman’s Executive Assistant when requested;

o Compose letters and correspondence regarding banking, investments, and other business

EDUCATION
