We have multiple opportunities available for an Engineering Technician II.Locations &#8211; Louisville, KY; Rochester, NYENGINEERING TECHNICIAN IIBASIC FUNCTIONThe Engineering Technician II supports engineers and a project as it progresses from design phase to installation including design, detail, CAD, establishing and maintaining CAD standards, generating material lists, tags, and testing the functionality of the signal system. This position is involved with troubleshooting issues during factory and field testing and during cutover.ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPSReports to:Engineering Manager Supervises:This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES&#8221;*&#8221; denotes an essential function of the jobA. *Creates CAD drawings.B. *Conducts all aspects of factory testing.C. *Generates tags from circuits.D. *Provides detailing of circuits.E. *Checks tag lists.F. *Answers questions concerning circuits from wiring personnel.G. *Troubleshoots problems in electrical circuits.H. *Detail checking.I. *Follows ISO/Engineering procedures are followed for CAD and Design Control.J. Follows test procedures and documents results.K. Performs factory and field testing.L. Establishes and maintains CAD standardsM. Assists engineers with circuit design.N. Creates and adjust Bill of Material.O. Builds test simulators.P. Site specific manuals.Q. Adjusts and tests AF and AC track circuits, crossing gates, switch machines and train stop machines.R. Assists and provides input for labor estimates and schedules.S. Draws or corrects CADD files of signal circuits.T. Details tie-in circuits for existing locations.U. Attends Company and industry-related meetings, as required.V. Establishes individual goals which are aligned with the Company&#8217;s business strategies and objectives. W. Functions as a contributing member of the department&#8217;s team and other teams, as assigned.X. Assists the department in the accomplishment of the team&#8217;s goals.Y. Ability to manipulate necessary office equipment and computer software.E. Ability to occasionally lift 2 to 15 pounds from floor to above shoulders.F. Ability to frequently stand for 1-hour intervals on concrete, metal house floor, rail ties, ballast.G. Ability to frequently reach 2 feet above shoulders, forward and lateral.H. Ability to occasionally kneel and squat for 5 to 10 minute intervals.I. Ability to occasionally grip, torque or recline for 5 to 10 minute intervals.WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONSA. This position requires working in both the internal and external environment. Activities occur inside and outside where the position will be subject to changes in temperature.B. This position will be exposed to physical hazards and equipment where special training and safety considerations are required.C. This position has occasional exposure to noise, vibration, moving equipment, and various environmental conditions such as slippery railroad ties, catwalks or ballasts.D. This position requires working nights, weekends or non-regular hours to meet deadlines.E. This position requires frequent travel. BASCIS EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTSA. Two year certificate (college or technical school) electrical related. B. CAD training and knowledge of CAD drawings.C. Electrical, circuits and wiring knowledge or experience.D. One year or more experience in a factory or field environment using electrical tools, measurements and wiring circuits.E. Familiarity with Transit and Safetran parts.TECHNICAL ABILITIESA. Ability to test and adjust AF track circuits.B. Ability to set up chargers.C. Ability to conduct testing in the factory or field.EQUIPMENT AND TOOLSA. General office equipment including, but not limited to:â¢ Telephone â¢ Fax machine â¢ Copy machine B. Computer, peripherals and the Microsoft Office software.C.
