Manager of Database Administration is responsible for overseeing the application technical support and database administration functions of the IT department.
This position is responsible for database planning, design, and implementation, as well as the maintenance and optimization of multiple business applications along with several middle-tier application platforms.
Manages database administration activities which include planning, structural definition, documentation, code review, long-range requirements, operations guidelines and security in a predominantly Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server environment.
Manages production support activities for various business applications including Oracle E-Business suite, as well as the ongoing health monitoring, maintenance and upgrade of those system.
Lead a database team by improving current structures and expanding standard processes.
Implement best practices and procedures for key database technologies.
Work in an environment with formal change control and compliance processes.
Interact with different business units/groups and be the face of the DBA team.
8+ years experience working as a DBA.3+ years experience managing/mentoring a DBA team of 3-5+ people.
Experience managing 24×7 production support.
Experience with Oracle versions 8i-11g, and Oracle RAC.Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2000-2008 and Clustering/Replication.
Experience with managing datawarehouse.
Strong Oracle ERP experience.
Strong knowledge in UNIX/LINUX/Windows platforms.
Informatica, Weblogic, IIS, Cognos, webMethods knowledge a plus.
Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
