Human factors involves the study and understanding of the way humans relate to the world around them, with the aim of improving operational performance, safety and ergonomics.
A Human factor is a physical or cognitive property of an individual or social behavior which is specific to humans and influences functioning of technological systems as well as human-environment equilibriums.
With our Human factor approach the goal is defined as making the human interaction with systems one that enhances performance and reduce errors, increases safety and user satisfaction.
We are currently seeking: Manager/ Human Factors Expert / for our Global Technology & Advanced Development group Position Responsibility: ·Investigate the properties of human capabilities, apply this understanding to the design and development of automotive systems and services and ensure successful application of Human factors for all possible types of HMI interaction eg visual, thermal, acoustics, tactile/vibration, humidity, odor, etc. ·Analyze, create and define specific requirements for design, engineering, safety, comfort and ergonomics ·Provide use-cases and interaction scenarios with highest possible usability, user satisfaction and acceptance level for drivers, co-drivers and passengers as well as with lowest possible (driver) distraction ·Help, assist and organize creating our Human Factors core competence through content- based leadership in closed cooperation with teams in the JCI Seating, Interiors, Electronics and Design studio ·Support and coordinate initiatives and projects across the JCI businesses.
Establish the modern art of Human factors methods ·Meet and interview OEMs, suppliers and users/customers of automotives and prepare "Facts & Figures" for potential new use-cases.
Scout for trends, technologies and needs ·Work with third party like research labs, universities and other R&D institutions and companies mainly in the area of psychology, physiology, ergonomics, (bio-)medical, biology and bionics ·Bachelor, Master degree or PhD in psychology, physiology, ergonomics, (bio-)medical, biology, system engineering and bionics or comparable qualification.
Good knowledge, capabilities and skills in Human factors, ergonomics, industrial design with basis knowledge in Automotive and System Engineering ·Ability to work out creative and innovative solutions.
Scenario thinking and excellent analytical skills ·Interested in working with an international team.
Good communication and presentation skills, result orientated functioning are required.
