Duties & Responsibilities: Integrate and program six-axis and linear automation to optimize for cycle time, motion efficiency, vibration control, and reliability.
Integration includes the robot, pneumatic and electrical actuators, and sensors.
Experience with vision systems and image analysis required.
While this is primarily a software position, some mechanical design may be required.
Duties include working with customers, vendors, subcontractors, the system software group, and the mechanical group.
This may include managing development at subcontractors.
Travel and debugging at customer sites in the US and Asia also required.
Basic Qualifications & Requirements: BSEE, BSCS or equivalent experience required, MS preferred.
5-7 years experience programming automated systems, especially six-axis robots and pneumatic end effectors.
Specific experience with KUKA robots and Cognex vision systems, as well as custom-designed end effectors, is a plus.
C++ or C# and Microsoft Visual Studio experience strongly preferred.
Candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and must be able to handle multiple concurrent design responsibilities.
Must be comfortable working with outside vendors/agencies.
Mechanical design expertise would be nice to have.
Must be able to travel to Asia several times a year.
Total travel is about 15% of time.
