We are seeking a highly motivated professional to join our Finance team! About the Job: Primary Function The Financial Accountant II prepares, maintains, analyzes and corrects routine and some complex accounting records, ensuring completeness and accuracy of such accounts with limited supervision.
While the Financial Accountant II reports to the Finance Manager, this individual may leverage the knowledge and seek assistance from the Financial Accountant III position.
Likewise, the Financial Accountant II provides coaching and support to the Financial Accountant I position.
Key Responsibilities: Prepares and processes accounting journal entries for routine and some complex accounts.
Works independently with others in the Company to obtain necessary details behind accounting entries or to resolve any discrepancies.
Prepares, processes and corrects accounting journal entries identified through self check of ones own work or as requested by Financial Accountant III or Finance Managers.
Timely reconciles financial balances for more complex accounts to underlying support, and either independently or with the assistance of Financial Accountant III is able to research and resolve discrepancies on a timely basis.
Provides oversight and coaching to the Financial Accountant I position; serves as back-up in the absence of that position.
Works collaboratively with the Financial Analysts to interpret and analyze your accounting records, and also provides analysis to the Finance Managers as needed.
Assists in the preparation of the monthly and quarterly reporting packages for the Board of Directors and management.
Assists in the preparation of the quarterly and annual financial statements.
Utilized as a key contributor to requests made by internal and all external auditors.
Works independently with the auditors to provide them with further analysis or explanations related to the information they need.
Contributes to the greater understanding of the processes and controls within the department and begins to analyze and recommend any procedural changes and control implementations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Demonstrates a solid understanding of statutory and GAAP accounting and reporting requirements applicable to Arbella and keeps informed of any changes.
Is able to perform research of accounting technical guidance of basic accounting scenarios.
Contributes to team efforts of establishing new procedures within the accounting records, or devise a plan to correct previous records, to ensure compliance with the most current statutory or GAAP accounting requirements.
Works collaboratively with the Finance team to ensure achievement of the Finance goals outlined in the annual business plans.
Keeps Finance Manager and others as appropriate informed of any roadblocks or other obstacles as they arise, along with a proposed solution to address such concerns.
Regularly provides Finance Manager with feedback on the performance and capacity of the Financial Accountant I.
Ensures accounting records are in compliance with Arbellas record retention rules.
Maintains in fact and appearance the utmost level of confidence, integrity and trust.
Maintains an approachable attitude and promotes positive customer service in all dealings internally and externally.
