Position Title: Software Release Analyst

Position Location: St. Petersburg, FL

Position Summary:

Under limited supervision, uses specialized knowledge and skills obtained through experience, specialized training and/or certification to develop, maintain, enhance, and support processes and tools for managing the changes to internally developed and maintained applications and programs through the software development lifecycle, with particular focus on testing and production phases.

Position Responsibilities:

Develop, maintain, and support processes and tools for managing the changes to internally developed and maintained applications and programs through the software development lifecycle.
Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine Software Release Management functions.
Work with Information Technology (IT) Development and other technical departments to coordinate the implementation of large and complex application releases.
Act as system administrator for release and configuration management tools, such as defining and maintaining access roles and permissions.
Provide second level support concerning use of release and configuration management systems. Act as a liaison with the vendor when additional support is needed.
Assist in training new Software Release Management staff and software developers on use of tools, systems, policies, and procedures.
Research, analyze, and evaluate enhancements to processes for possible implementation by department; present findings of research, evaluation results and recommendations to management for consideration.
Maintain documentation for the software release and configuration management tools and processes.
Developing and maintaining system administrative documentation.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Regular attendance required.

Required Experience: Requires a minimum of 2 years Windows development experience, especially using Visual Studio and .NET; previous experience as a build manager; knowledgeable about StarTeam (or other Windows software configuration management tools); experienced using nAnt and other build management tools

Knowledge of:
Operating Systems to manage project folders and files.
PC systems/networks and/or Non Stop systems sufficient to configure and troubleshoot issues with configuration management tools.
Software development lifecycle, including programming/development activities and IT operations/production sufficient to communicate about development, testing, and production environments.
Software configuration management and release management principles sufficient to ensure the integrity of our software.
Software configuration and release management tools sufficient to administer and support them.
ITIL processes, especially release, change, and configuration management.
Project management principles sufficient to be an effective project team member and to manage small projects.

Skill in:
Analysis and problem solving sufficient to make decisions and discernment to consult with management when needed to resolve issues.
Maintaining project documentation and communications.
Developing and delivering audio visual materials and presentations.
Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications.
Preparing various reports, summaries, surveys and written recommendations.

Ability to:
Attend to detail while maintaining a big picture orientation.
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, including communicating instructions and information clearly, concisely and accurately to all user levels.
Create and maintain scripts.
