Pre-Sales Administrator

Job Summary:
Acquires job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks. Works on assignments that are routine in nature yet require technical accuracy. Has no role in closing sales opportunities. Works under normal supervision. Works closely with the field and is an integral part of sales process. Role is centrally located and involves minimal travel to the field.
Essential Functions:
· Responsible for preparing quotes for outside channel and direct sales reps. If available, will utilize set pricing agreements in preparing quotes.
· Must be trained to understand the product configurations. Will be trained on product and processes. Will emphasize continual re-training and process improvement.
· Will need to learn industry language and terms. (i.e. NAS vs. SAN, etc…)
· Main system interface will be Siebel Customer Resource Management tool (CRM) and Siebel Quoting tool.
· Does not close the sale.
· Interfaces with System Engineer or Sales Rep to resolve any questions or concerns with product configuration or quote. Ability to communicate with System Engineer and Sales Team to resolve any technical accuracy questions.
· Prepared quotes will be sent directly to sales or channel rep for review. If the rep is not available for review, will send the quote to the SE. If directed by the rep, will send a copy of prepared quote to the customer. Follow up questions on quotes should be directed to the field rep.
· When a purchase order is ready, prepares the Order Verification screen in CRM to prepare the sales order to forward to the field admin for processing.
· Job metrics will be focused around turn-around time on quote preparation, quality of quote preparation, and complexity of quoting. Quote volume metrics will be used to assess workload and to balance the team productivity.
Requirements:

Desired Skills: System savvy, Technical aptitude, Follow up with field, Good communication both verbal and written skills, Quick and accurate on data entry. Understand orders; understand sales cycle at a base level. Ability to interact with field sales and field admin. Ability to prioritize workload and provide feedback to field on workload. Quick learner, interested in technology, self-sufficient. High energy. Ability to work and execute accurately under pressure (e.g., end of quarter)
Education:
BA/BS or equivalent (not required) and/or 0-5 years experience in Order Administration, Field Administration, Sales Administration.
