Director of Research and Technical Services Job in New York 10027, New York US
Responsible for managing all technical support that is required by researchers in the NWC Building.
Develop and implement appropriate technology systems for operational efficiency in the laboratory facilities.
Assist with the purchase, maintenance, and repairs of major equipment and instruments.
Coordinate with University Department of Public Safety on developing and implementing procedures for meeting the requirements of safety and security; manage the building key code and swipe system.
Responsible for handling, transfer, and storage of hazardous materials and lab supplies; coordinate with Environmental Health and Safety to assure compliance with federal, state, and city regulations; represent research laboratories on Laboratory Health and Safety Committee and Radiation Safety Committee.
Provide support to faculty on all issues of physical plant maintenance, health and safety, and research technical services; coordinate with PIs to optimize the facilitys operation; assist in both long-term and short-term space planning.
Responsible for working with Facilities Management on all issues of physical plant maintenance and repair; coordinate with Department of Design and Construction on the planning and execution of major renovation projects and the successful completion of construction of the NWC Building; responsible for the successful completion of all Facilities Management Work Orders; acts as liaison between Facilities Management and all faculty conducting research; serves as representative on the monthly Facilities Production meetings.
Responsible for the logistical set-up and oversight of 21 new labs.
This will include the transfer/move of existing internal and external labs and research groups from various CU buildings and/or other non-CU sites to NWC.Develop and manage the buildings operation budget.
