Responsibilities include partnering with an outside salesperson to target and develop a territory, developing a calling plan and generating qualified leads for an enterprise product targeted to IT staff.

Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from ad inquiries, trade shows, direct mail responses, aged leads, business directories, Internet Web sites, and other sources.

Makes outbound lead follow-up calls to potential and existing customers by telephone and e-mail to qualify leads and sell products and services.

Handles inbound sales lead calls to convert calls into sales.

Helps develop established script to use when calling prospects.

Calls prospective customers in designated market area to qualify leads and explain type of service or product offered.

Overcomes technical and business objections of prospective customers.

Informs current and prospective customers of current promotions and new or upgraded products.

Provides product demos to qualified customers on request.

Emphasizes salable features, quotes prices and credit terms, and prepares sales orders for orders obtained.

Follows up with customers to assure satisfaction, respond to queries, solicit further sales, and solve or refer problems.

Coordinates customer training. Builds and maintains customer relationships.

Prepares reports of business transactions.

Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.

Works with outside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.

Travels to and attends trade shows.

Must be able to complete 300 outbound calls a week (Average 60 calls per day).

Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from four year college or university is preferred, but not required.

Two or more years telephone sales lead generation experience, calling into C-level staff, as well as experience selling over the phone
